Spring 2011 is shaping up to be a busy one for Mt. Fuji Records with three releases slated for May 17th, 2011.

First to note is the newest full-length from Portland, OR’s dream-pop noisemakers, Point Juncture, WA. The band’s third full-length effort entitled “Handsome Orders” is slated for release on May 17th via Mt. Fuji. Handsome Orders was recorded and produced by the band over the winter months in the band’s newly built home studio. The new album is a tour de force of songwriting and production, showcasing an impressive blend of fuzzed out bliss, beautiful boy-girl harmonies, and sublime melody. Handsome orders should more than satiate the fans of their previous, critically acclaimed release “Heart to Elk.” It has been a few years and we’ve missed them too. Falling in love again never felt so good. The new record will be available digitally and on LP and CD with amazing artwork painstakingly handcrafted and assembled by the band.

Next up… from Austin, TX, Mt. Fuji is pleased to announce a single from the label’s newest signing, Follow That Bird. Fresh off their contribution to the Matador Records “Casual Victim Pile” compilation, Follow That Bird makes their Mt. Fuji debut with the “Wooden Bones” single. Wooden Bones, backed with “Antlers” will be available on 7″ vinyl and digitally. Matador Records big wig Gerard Cosloy aptly stated “Follow That Bird has been one of the best bands in the country for years now.” We couldn’t agree more. Follow That Bird mines dark and enchanting territory, with loud guitars, propulsive rhythm and earth shaking vocals from Lauren Green. Expect a full-length from Follow That Bird on Mt. Fuji later this year.

Last order of business comes from the newly christened Seattle 4-piece, Hounds of the Wild Hunt and their eponymous debut EP (digital only). Hounds of the Wild Hunt formerly recorded and perfromed as The Whoremoans. While their new name signifies a change in sound and direction, their punk spirit and anthemic song-writing chops have remained firmly intact. Mt. Fuji will be giving away their debut 4 song EP for free throughout the entire month of April through www.mtfujirecords.com, after that it will be available through all the normal online retailers starting May 17th. Hounds of the Wild Hunt are currently working on their debut full-length record which should be out later this year.

Stay tuned to www.mtfujirecords.com for more information regarding the upcoming releases and accompanying tour dates.
